The Premier League’s summer transfer window is at an end after a dramatic deadline day that saw spending blow past the £3bn mark – but not all nations are closed for business.
There is no fixed worldwide deadline, with leagues instead choosing to set their own open and closing dates for deals to be done.
It means that players could still depart England to certain nations as clubs look to cash in or trim their squads after late arrivals.
A number of free agents, too, will be continuing to seek new employers, though are obviously not bound by any set dates.
Mohamed Salah is one of the headline names to have made a move to Turkey this summer after leaving Liverpool, and Trazbonspor and the rest of the Super Lig can still do deals. The Turkish transfer deadline is on Friday 4 September.
The deadline for Scotland is 3 September at 5pm, leaving time tight for Celtic, Rangers, Hearts and the rest to improve their squads, while Eredivisie clubs in the Netherlands have until midnight on Wednesday 2 September. The Belgian deadline is a day later.
The Saudi Pro League remains open to deals for weeks yet – their window slams shut, to use the preferred parlance, on 12 October. Portuguese clubs also enjoy an extended window: 15 September is deadline day there.
In England’s Women’s Super League, meanwhile, clubs have until 11pm BST on Thursday 3 September to get their business done.
