Silver Night on Meteorite, Motorola Razr 70 With Crystals by Swarovski

Motorola used IFA week in Berlin to turn its cheapest current flip phone into a small piece of evening jewelry. Officially named motorola razr with Crystals by Swarovski and sold as a Razr 70 in Europe (Razr 2026 in the United States), this Brilliant Collection edition keeps every chip, camera, and screen from the April handset and spends its budget on finish. PANTONE Meteorite is the color, a deep charcoal that sits still until light hits it. Across a quilted, leather-inspired back sit 35 hand-positioned Silver Night crystals, with one larger 32-facet stone set into the hinge so each open-and-close motion throws a flash.

Closed, the phone is a short, thick clamshell measuring 88.1 by 74 by 15.9 millimeters and weighing 188 grams. Its aluminum frame is built to last, with a titanium-charged hinge and water resistance up to IP48, in addition to MIL-STD-810H durability certification. A 3.6-inch outside AMOLED panel (1056 by 1066 pixels, 90 Hz, HDR10+, 1,700 nits peak). Gorilla Glass Victus to protect it) can handle everything from complete apps to square images just like a regular phone without having to flip it open, and Motorola has done exactly that. The box includes a clear case that frames the beautiful crystals rather than covering them up, which is convenient given that the crystals are the primary reason you’d want to purchase this phone.

Flip it open, and the 6.9-inch LTPO Extreme AMOLED takes over: 1080 by 2640, 120 Hz, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and 3,000 nits at max. What you have here is effectively the same tall, slightly wrinkled screen that comes with the standard Razr 70, but on a larger size. The Android 16 software is smooth and responsive, and Motorola says it will push three major OS updates and five years of security patches, which is encouraging. In normal use, the phone runs smoothly. When it comes to serious gaming or video editing, you’ll quickly realize that this is still a mid-range foldable, not one of the best flagship devices on the market.

This handset is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7450X chip, which has four Cortex-A78 cores running at 2.6GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores running at 2.0GHz. This is combined with 8 Gb of RAM and a UFS 3.1 128 or 256 Gb storage cut. It also includes the standard features such as Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, 5G, USB-C, a fingerprint reader on the side, and dual speakers with Dolby Atmos technology. None of these have changed since the hardware was first announced last spring.

The camera setup consists of two 50-megapixel sensors, a wide-angle f/1.7 lens capable of stabilizing shots, and a 122-degree ultrawide at f/2.0. The front camera is a single 32-megapixel sensor that is integrated into the primary screen. The video is limited at 4K30. Photos are useful in excellent light, but let’s be honest: they’re probably fine for posting on social media. Motorola claims that its 4800 mAh battery (officially rated at 4610 mAh) will last more over 36 hours in mixed mode. That’s combined with rapid charging at 30 watts wired and 15 watts wireless. That alone is probably a good incentive to buy this phone, crystals or not.

Motorola plans to sell the phone in the United States for $899.99, which is $100 more than the basic Razr 2026 but $100 less than last year’s crystal variant. It will be available on Motorola.com and Amazon on September 10th, followed by Verizon on September 24th. If you order from Motorola within the next several days, you will receive some Moto Buds 2 Plus in a matching Swarovski edition, as well as a stunning new watch. In the UK, it will cost £899.99 from retailers such as John Lewis, Selfridges, and Motorola’s own store beginning September 15th, which is much more than the base model Razr 70, which starts at £799.
