Bruno Guimaraes is an injury doubt for Arsenal’s Premier League opener against Coventry City on Friday night.
The Brazil international completed his £75million move from Newcastle United earlier this month, featuring against Como in a pre-season friendly before starting in the Community Shield against Manchester City on Sunday.
He came off at half-time at the Principality Stadium and was later spotted wearing an icepack on his leg while sat on the bench.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Arteta revealed he was hopeful his midfielder would be passed fit but will be assessed ahead of kick-off.
‘Let’s see,’ Arteta told a press conference when asked about the former Newcastle star.
‘It’s evolving well, but let’s see.’
Arsenal remain without two of their first-choice back four in Jurrien Timber and William Saliba.

Saliba is recovering from a back problem that is expected to rule him out for the opening months of the season with the club deciding against surgery in the summer months.
Timber meanwhile has not started a game since March when he picked up a groin injury that derailed his season.

While he did return off the bench in the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain in May, he missed out on the World Cup with Netherlands before undergoing surgery in July.
