Cody Gakpo looks likely to stay at Liverpool after they repelled an approach from Manchester City for the winger.

City are offering pretty much the same terms to Everton for Ndiaye as Tottenham, who proposed a return for Richarlison as part of the deal. Jack Grealish, who spent last term on loan at Everton, could be included in City’s offer, while Rico Lewis is also in the conversation.
Liverpool bought one forward on Monday, completing a £106m deal for Bradley Barcola, but manager Andoni Iraola wants to have four wingers in his squad.
While Liverpool have bid for Brighton’s Yankuba Minteh and contacted Crystal Palace about Ismaila Sarr, both clubs were reluctant to sell.
Gakpo, who scored Liverpool’s first goal under Iraola and set up Alexander Isak’s strike against Nottingham Forest on Saturday, is also a popular member of the squad, with captain Virgil van Dijk saying he wanted him to stay.
While City have just bought a winger, completing a £32m deal for Palmeiras’ Allan, they are looking for a further signing after allowing both Savinho and Omar Marmoush to go to Tottenham, while Jack Grealish may rejoin Everton.
