Carabao Cup fourth round draw: Arsenal and Chelsea learn next opponents | Football

Liverpool will host Chelsea in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup with Arsenal heading to Fleetwood Town.

Xabi Alonso will be heading back to Anfield with his Chelsea side in the pick of the fourth round fixtures. His side beat Leeds United last week, with the Reds getting past Tottenham on Tuesday.

The lowest ranked team left in the competition in Fleetwood will host the Premier League champions who eased past Ipswich Town in their third round clash this week.

Fleetwood head coach Matt Lawlor said: ‘It’s amazing for the club to welcome the best team in the country and one of the best teams in Europe to Highbury.

‘It will be an amazing occasion for the club. To pit your wits against the best team in the country will be one of the toughest of tests but one we are looking forward to.

‘It will be the ultimate test but an amazing reward for the players.

‘It will be back to the stomping ground for them in terms of Highbury. I am sure it is something the clubs can share in terms of that.’

Elsewhere, defending champions Manchester City take on Norwich in the third round on Thursday night with the winners set to host Brighton who sent Manchester United crashing out of the competition on Wednesday night.

Everton host Newcastle in a tasty looking tie while there are also all-Premier League clashes between Sunderland and Brentford, Fulham and Crystal Palace and Bournemouth and Aston Villa.

There will be a League One team in the quarter-finals as Bradford will host Peterborough.

All ties will be played in the week commencing October 26.
