YIVTOL S-Zero Plus Brings Single-Seat Electric Vertical Flight Within Reach of Private Owners

YIVTOL S-ZERO Plus eVTOL Personal Flying Vehicle
Early buyers in the United States and Europe have already begun taking delivery of the YIVTOL S-Zero Plus, a single-seat electric multicopter that lifts off vertically from a backyard or open field without needing a runway or a pilot license in qualifying cases. Built by Shenzhen Yingwu Intelligent Technologies under the YIVTOL name, the aircraft hangs a compact carbon-fiber cockpit beneath a titanium-tube frame that supports eight independent electric rotors arranged in a four-axis coaxial layout. Arms fold inward so the whole machine can shrink enough to fit in a pickup bed or a standard garage bay, turning storage and transport into ordinary logistics rather than a specialized operation.

The Plus is priced at $79,000, plus shipping tariffs, taxes, and options, with a maximum pilot weight of roughly 120 kilograms and a claimed 30 minutes of flight time from a pair of high-capacity batteries that swap out in around two minutes. The top speed appears to be between 43 and 62 mph, depending on who you’re looking at and their software settings, and while a practical flight radius of roughly 22 miles should cover your local hops or some casual flying, hover precision is just a couple of meters off, due to the flight computer.

That’s impressive, given that the intelligent multi-axis joystick, along with continuous stabilization, allows even a new user to position the machine where they want it, while the system handles all of the finer nuances of lift and balance. However, real-world sessions from early users have revealed that it climbs stronger and handles more stably than the base model, although keep in mind that actual endurance may suffer if you’re a bigger pilot, it’s a hot day, or you’re pushing the machine very hard.

In the US, the S-Zero Plus is classified as an FAA Part 103 ultralight, which means you don’t need formal type certification, airworthiness certificates, registration numbers, or pilot licenses (as long as you only fly recreationally and keep the empty weight under 254 pounds). According to company assertions, it weighs slightly under 110 kg, so you’re set to go. The first deliveries in the United States were made in July 2026 to owners in Tennessee and Illinois, marking the first time a Chinese company sold personal electric vertical aircraft to US citizens. In September 2025, China gave the design a special flight permit, the first for an ultralight eVTOL under norms similar to those used in the United States. Meanwhile, European partners have set up experience centers and received orders, and if you want to be extra safe, you can tack on an optional parachute-and-airbag package that provides an extra layer of protection upon landing.

People who have flown it say it feels like sitting inside a blender with all the propeller wash going on, but after you get used to it, the controls feel far more like a video game joystick than typical aircraft controls. On top of that, you have triple-redundant flight controls, automatic return to home if you run low on battery or lose signal, geofencing, and two-stage deceleration landings with cushion pads all built in to keep you safe, and it’s not like if one motor fails, the other seven can just keep going. Training is also available, with factory or dealer pilots ready to travel to your location and show you the ropes, and there are now a number of import, customs, and on-site training firms in North America and Europe to help you get the thing up and flying right away.

Battery quick swap capabilities reduce downtime to a bare minimum, as opposed to hanging around waiting for a full charge to finish, and the folding form is a game changer because it eliminates the need for a separate hangar to store the device. The payload and endurance have also been increased in the S-Zero Plus compared to the lesser priced Basic version, albeit the higher end Max configurations come at the expense of a little less payload capacity, but they do give a longer duration, which may be worthwhile for certain people. At roughly half the price of the Swedish Jetson One, the S-Zero Plus offers comparable or even better claimed endurance and a higher maximum pilot weight, which is probably why many people who’ve been keeping an eye on personal electric vertical aircraft for years are taking notice now that they’re actually starting to roll off production lines and arrive at people’s doorsteps.
